Ask for a lining and a longer length for winter, or choose cambric so it washes easily.

Central Scotland is cool even in summer and damp for much of the year, so lightweight lawn is a fair-weather treat. Khaddar or marina with full sleeves will get far more wear between October and April. If your weekends involve a walk round the loch at Strathclyde Park, a shorter kurta with wide-leg trousers under a waterproof is more practical than a long, flowing kameez.
