Indian dress material and Pakistani lawn
Southall’s shops sell both, and they behave differently. Indian dress material often has its embroidery already worked into the top length, so the neckline follows it; Pakistani lawn packs come as two or three pieces with loose borders. Tell us which you have, and whether you want a Patiala shalwar, a churidar or straight trousers, because a Patiala swallows far more fabric. Vaisakhi, Diwali and Eid
Southall’s calendar is full: the Vaisakhi procession in spring, Diwali lights in the autumn and Eid twice a year. For festival days, choose the embroidery level on the form, from delicate at the neckline to a bolder statement finish; our fancy work page explains each one. Give your date when you enquire, because with Stitching Only your fabric has to reach Pakistan first.

Can you make a Patiala shalwar?
Yes, provided the fabric stretches to it. Pleated Patialas use much more cloth than a straight trouser or churidar, so tell us before you send anything and we check the lengths from your photos.
Do you have a shop on The Broadway?
No. Nothing is sold or stitched in Southall, and we have no premises anywhere in the UK. You order online and the outfit is made in Pakistan.
