Nelson grew up around cotton weaving sheds in the shadow of Pendle Hill, famous for the story of the Pendle witches. The looms have gone, but plenty of homes here still hold good cloth: brand packs from Pakistan, khaddar for winter, lawn for summer. The Gilded Seam stitches it to your measurements and sends the finished outfits back to Nelson, Brierfield and Colne.

Making up a brand pack
A three-piece pack usually holds a printed or embroidered shirt front, a back, sleeves, a dupatta and trouser fabric, sometimes with a separate neckline piece or border. Tell us which parts you want used where. Stitching Only means your pack travels to Pakistan and comes back as a finished outfit, two separate journeys, so photograph every piece before we confirm anything and before you post it.
Hill-country winters
Pendle’s weather comes in off the moors, wet and cold for a good part of the year. That is when khaddar shows its worth: a woven, slightly textured cotton that keeps you warmer than lawn. Note on the form whether your khaddar has been washed, since some shrink a little the first time.

Please give body measurements rather than an S, M or L. Brand charts vary, and a made-to-measure kameez should be cut to you.
