Local notes

Ordering from Glasgow

Sizes, customs rules and sending fabric from the UK: ordering from the UK.

Ordering from Scotland

Your outfit is made in Pakistan, so it arrives in Scotland as an import, just as it would anywhere else in the UK. GOV.UK explains that VAT is charged on goods sent from outside the UK and that the delivery company contacts the recipient to collect any VAT, duty or fees. With us, those charges and delivery to your address are already included in your written quote, which also confirms the production time, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives.

If you live beyond the city, in the Highlands or on one of the islands, name your town when you ask for a quote so the delivery arrangements can be confirmed for your area.

Cuts for west coast weather

Glasgow is one of the wettest cities in Britain, and even summer days can turn cool by the evening. That makes a lining your friend: cotton under a lawn kameez adds warmth and stops a pale print turning sheer in the rain. A full sleeve is often more useful here than a three-quarter one, and in winter, khaddar or marina with a thermal underneath is practical for every day. Our winter fabrics guide compares them.

Eid in the colder months

For the next few years Eid al-Fitr falls in February or March, which in Glasgow usually means a cold, damp day. An Eid outfit in cotton silk or embroidered karandi, with a warm shawl for travelling between houses, is far more comfortable than summer lawn. If you are sending your own fabric, it makes two journeys, so start early with the Eid outfit timeline.

Two ways to order

Our fabric, or yours

Both are made to your measurements in Pakistan. The minimum order is one suit, and we don’t offer free samples.

  • Fabric + Stitching

We supply the agreed fabric and make your outfit to your measurements. One parcel: the finished outfit shipped to you.

    • Fabric agreed with you before cutting
    • Minimum order one suit
    • No need to send anything
  • Stitching Only

You supply suitable fabric, such as an unstitched suit, and we cut, stitch and finish it.

    • Two shipping stages: your fabric to us in Pakistan, then the outfit to you
    • Confirm suitability and quantity before sending
    • Minimum order one suit
Are there customs charges when ordering to Scotland?

Any that apply are included in your written quote. The outfit is shipped from Pakistan, and the quote covers delivery to your Scottish address plus any VAT, customs duty or fees, just as it does anywhere in the UK, so there is nothing extra to pay when the parcel arrives.

Can I give my measurements in inches?

Yes. The quote form accepts centimetres or inches; keep to one unit and tell us which you used. The size guide shows where to measure.
