Built for a Berlin winter
Berlin winters are long and cold, with plenty of days below freezing. This is the city for the heavier Pakistani winter fabrics: khaddar, karandi and marina all hold warmth, and a full lining stops the wind finding its way in. Ask for trousers with a little more ease if you wear a thermal layer underneath; our winter fabrics guide compares the options.
Summers are warm enough for lawn, and a light lawn set is easy to wear on a hot afternoon by the Wannsee or the Müggelsee.
Relaxed cuts for a relaxed city
Berlin is not a city of formal office wear. Start-ups, studios and universities all lean casual, so a straight kurta over jeans, a short kurti with wide trousers, or a plain co-ord worn with trainers fits in easily, whether you study at Humboldt, the Freie Universität or TU Berlin. Western pieces can be made to measure too, so the trousers can come in the same order.
Fabric from the Maybachufer
Berlin’s market on the Maybachufer, beside the Landwehr Canal in Neukölln, has stalls selling fabric by the metre, and an unstitched suit brought back from Pakistan works just as well. For Stitching Only, send photos first and wait until we confirm the fabric, quantity and arrangements, then post it to Pakistan by a tracked service with an accurate customs declaration. The finished outfit reaches Berlin as a separate shipment. Your quote includes delivery and any import duties and taxes, so there is nothing extra to pay when it arrives, and the Germany page explains the EU rules.

I wear a German size 38. Can I just give you that?
Please send measurements in centimetres instead. German sizes use their own scale and cuts vary between brands, so a size alone cannot tell us your sleeve length or where a kameez should fall. The size guide shows how to measure.
Is there anywhere in Berlin I can be measured?
No. There is no shop, studio or measuring appointment in Germany. You measure at home, ideally with a friend holding the tape, and the design and measurements are agreed with you in writing before cutting.
Can you line a khaddar kameez?
Yes. Choose a lined kameez on the quote form, or ask us to advise once we see photos of your fabric.
