From May to September, unlined lawn and voile in pale colors are the everyday answer, cut with a little ease so air can move. Full sleeves in fine lawn keep strong sun off your arms on the walk to the car, and a cotton lining behind a pale print stops it looking sheer. Chiffon is the lightest of our three abaya fabrics and can be made in any color. During the monsoon, a printed fabric hides dust and rain spots better than a plain light one.
Valley Metro light rail runs into downtown Mesa, and ASU’s Polytechnic campus sits on the city’s southeast side, so plenty of days here move between a train, a classroom and an air-conditioned office. A straight cotton kurta over cigarette pants handles all three. From late fall to spring, evenings are pleasant enough for dinners and Eid gatherings outdoors, which is the time for cambric, linen and fuller embroidery; our page on fancy work in the US explains the levels.

We cut each piece to your measurements in Pakistan, from an abaya to a lawn suit, and ship it to Mesa, Gilbert or anywhere else in the East Valley.

In the cooler months, from late fall to spring, a suit with fuller embroidery comes into its own. You can also send your own design.
