Planning around an Ohio year

Central Ohio gets a proper winter, a humid summer and two pleasant seasons between, so it helps to think in sets rather than single outfits:

  • December to February: khaddar or marina, lined, with full sleeves.
  • Spring and fall: cambric or linen, which layer neatly under a light jacket.
  • June to August: lawn with elbow or three-quarter sleeves.

Students and staff at Ohio State cross a big campus in all weathers. A co-ord in khaddar for winter, or cambric for spring, keeps you warm without bulk. In state offices and downtown, a straight knee-length kameez looks professional, and the dupatta can be left off for work.

Getting fabric to Pakistan from Ohio

If you are sending a suit for Stitching Only, wait until we have looked at your photos and confirmed the fabric and quantity. Then ship it as an international package with tracking, declaring the contents as what they are, for example an unstitched three-piece suit, at their real value. Winter fabrics are bulkier than lawn, so pack them flat and send us the tracking number. The finished outfit comes back separately, with US import charges already in your quote.

When should I order a winter suit?

Early in the fall is sensible, especially with your own fabric, which has to reach Pakistan before production starts. The making itself takes 5 to 7 working days once the quote is paid; shipping each way is extra.

Can I be measured by someone in Columbus?

No. There is no studio, store or measuring service in Ohio. Measure yourself at home with a soft tape, ideally with a friend helping, and enter the numbers in inches.
