Whether you picked up a lawn pack on Devon Avenue or ordered a winter collection online, photograph each piece and add your measurements in inches on the quote form. We confirm the fabric is suitable and enough for your design, and how to ship it to Pakistan, before you send anything. It then needs a tracked international service and an accurate customs declaration, and the finished outfit comes back as a separate shipment; our guide to shipping your fabric covers packing. If you would rather choose new fabric, Fabric + Stitching means only the finished outfit travels.
A kameez for a Chicago winter
Winters here are long, and the wind off Lake Michigan cuts straight through thin cotton. This is khaddar and karandi season: both are dense, warm and hold their shape under a parka. A cotton lining adds another layer, and a kameez that falls to the knee or just below keeps you covered on a cold L platform.
- Boots: choose cigarette pants if you tuck them into snow boots, or straight pants if they sit over the top.
- Layers: measure over a thermal if you wear one, or mention it on the form.
- Sleeves: full length, finished to sit neatly under a coat cuff.
Summer by the lake

Do you have a store in Chicago?
No. There is no store, studio or address in Chicago or anywhere else in the US. You order online, your measurements and design are agreed in writing, and the outfit is made in Pakistan and shipped to you anywhere in Chicago or the suburbs.
When should I start on a winter suit?
Early, especially if you are sending your own fabric, because it travels to Pakistan and the finished outfit travels back separately. Start in early fall rather than after the first snow.
Can you make a kameez long enough to wear under a winter coat?
Yes. Give an exact length in inches, and mention your coat length if you want the hem to stay hidden. Lengths are agreed in writing before cutting.
