The Gilded Seam: Custom Women’s Stitching

Delivered to Poland

Made-to-Measure Clothing Delivered to Poland

From Warsaw and Kraków to Wrocław, Gdańsk or Poznań, you can order a shalwar kameez, kurta or co-ord cut to your own measurements and have it shipped to your door. The Gilded Seam makes everything in Pakistan; there is no shop, tailor or measuring point of ours in Poland, so the whole order runs online and every detail is put in writing before we cut. You can let us source the fabric or send an unstitched suit of your own. This page covers what changes when you order from Poland: EU import charges, a quote in euros, dollars or pounds rather than złoty, Polish sizes, and dressing for cold continental winters and hot summers.

Quick answers

Ordering from Poland

The questions customers ask before their first order, answered for your country.

What can I order?

Any made-to-measure women’s outfit from our range: three-piece and two-piece shalwar kameez, kurtas and kameez, co-ords, Eid outfits, casual party wear, and Western pieces such as dresses, skirts, tops and trousers. Bring your own design or adapt one of ours. In Poland a lined winter suit and a lighter cotton or lawn kurta for the summer heat make a sensible pair, and a dressier outfit suits a wedding you are invited to as a guest.

Can I order just one suit?

Yes. One suit is our minimum order, cut to the measurements and design you approve. There are no free samples; we share photos and descriptions of the fabric with your quote, so you know what you are getting before you pay. Ordering a single outfit for Eid or for one special evening is entirely normal.

Can you provide the fabric?

Yes. Choose Fabric + Stitching and we supply the fabric we have agreed with you, then make the outfit. Tell us whether you want something warm for a Polish January or airy for August, and the fabric is confirmed in writing. Nothing needs to be posted from Poland, only your finished outfit travels.

Can I send my own fabric?

Yes, subject to fabric suitability and sufficient quantity. Stitching Only means you send your fabric from Poland to us in Pakistan, and the finished garment is shipped back separately, so there are two shipping stages. Contact us with photos first: we confirm the fabric, the quantity and the sending arrangements before you post anything.

How do I submit my measurements?

On the quote form, in centimetres or inches. Centimetres are what Polish tape measures show, so they are the natural choice, but either unit works as long as you use one throughout. A Polish size 38 or 40 follows the continental European scale and varies between brands, so the numbers you measure are far more useful.

How are the design and fit agreed?

In writing, before we cut. We have no appointments or try-ons in Poland, so we go through the neckline, sleeves, lengths, trouser style, lining and any embroidery with you by message, and they all appear in your quote. A photo of a kameez that already fits you well is one of the most helpful things you can send.

Where is the clothing made?

Pakistan. Every outfit is cut, stitched and finished there and then shipped to Poland. We have no studio, shop or tailor in Warsaw or any other Polish city, and everything is arranged online.

How long does it take, and what does shipping cost?

Production takes 5 to 7 working days, starting when your quote is approved and paid in full, or for Stitching Only, when your fabric reaches us. Shipping to Poland is added afterwards and depends on the delivery method, and its cost is already included in the quote. If you are ordering for a date, such as Eid or a wedding, mention it in your enquiry.

Who handles import charges?

We do. The written quote includes delivery to your address in Poland and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, so you have nothing extra to pay when the parcel is delivered. Poland is in the EU, where VAT applies to all imported goods and a temporary flat customs duty now applies to low-value parcels from outside the EU, and both are covered in your total.

How do I request a quote?

Use the Request a Custom Quote form linked from this page, which opens with Poland selected. Give us your city, the garment, quantity, service option, measurements, design images and notes, and we reply with a written quote in euros, US dollars or pounds sterling. We ask for your full address only when the order goes ahead.

Two ways to start

Your design, or one of ours

Send a photo of the outfit you want, or customise one of our designs. Either way it is cut to your measurements and shipped to Poland.

  • 01

    Have something in mind?

Upload a photo, a screenshot or a sketch. We’ll make it as a single piece, cut to your measurements, and agree every detail with you before we start.

  • 02

    Like one of ours?

Pick a design from our collection and change what you want: neckline, sleeves, length or lining. Same care, your version.

  • Single pieces welcome

One outfit is enough. No minimum bundle.

  • Full payment in advance

You pay once you’ve approved your quote, before we cut anything.

  • 5 to 7 working days to make

Production time only. Shipping is added on top.

  • Delivered worldwide

Delivery and import charges are included in your quote.

Two ways to order

Our fabric, or yours

Both are made to your measurements. The minimum order is one suit, and we don’t offer free samples.

  • Fabric + Stitching

We supply the agreed fabric and make your outfit to your measurements. One parcel: the finished outfit shipped to you.

    • Fabric agreed with you before cutting
    • Minimum order one suit
    • No need to send anything
  • Stitching Only

You supply suitable fabric, such as an unstitched suit, and we cut, stitch and finish it.

    • Two shipping stages: your fabric to us in Pakistan, then the outfit to you
    • Confirm suitability and quantity before sending
    • Minimum order one suit

Sending an unstitched suit from Poland

Many customers here already own an unstitched suit: one ordered from a Pakistani brand’s website, a gift from relatives, or a set carried back after a trip to Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad. Others prefer cotton or linen bought by the metre in Poland. Our Stitching Only service makes up either, as long as there is enough for your design; read what to do if your suit is short of fabric if you are unsure.

Send us clear daylight photos of every piece first, then wait for our confirmation of the fabric, the quantity and the sending arrangements. Only then post it to Pakistan, by a tracked international service, which you arrange. Pakistan is outside the EU, so the parcel travels with a customs declaration: describe it truthfully, for example “unstitched lawn suit fabric, three pieces, for stitching”, and keep the tracking number. How to post your fabric for stitching explains the form.

Your finished outfit then comes back to Poland as a separate shipment, with its delivery and import charges already in your quote. Prefer a single parcel? Fabric + Stitching means we supply the fabric and nothing leaves Poland.

How EU import rules apply to a parcel for Poland

Poland is an EU member, so a parcel from Pakistan is an import into the EU. The European Commission’s page on low-value consignments explains that since 1 July 2021 all such imports are subject to VAT, paid either through a seller registered for IOSS or when the goods are imported. In addition, from 1 July 2026 the EU levies a temporary €3 customs duty per category of goods on low-value consignments, up to €150, from outside the EU, until 1 July 2028; the old €150 duty exemption no longer applies. The Commission’s announcement and the Council’s press release give the details.

In Poland, customs clearance is handled by the National Revenue Administration, Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa. With us you do not have to deal with it yourself: VAT, the flat EU duty and any courier fee are part of your written quote, so nothing is collected at your door. If a courier asks you to pay anything, please contact us first. The Europe overview and our article on ordering from Europe cover the same ground for neighbouring countries.

Quotes in euros, dollars or pounds, not złoty

We do not quote in złoty. Customers in Poland choose euros, US dollars or pounds sterling, and the written quote is issued in that currency; payment is in full, in advance, by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link. If your account is in złoty, your bank or payment provider converts the amount, so check its exchange rate before you pay. Our written quote guide shows what the total covers.

Measurements work the same way whatever the currency: centimetres from the size guide, entered on the quote form. If you are searching in Polish, tailoring to measure is szycie na miarę and a seamstress is a krawcowa, but there is no need for either here; custom stitching explains everything we make.

Continental winters, hot summers and occasions

Polish winters are cold and often grey, with frost and snow, while flats and offices are generally well heated. A kameez with a lining, in cambric or khaddar, works under a winter coat without overheating you at your desk, and karandi or marina is warmer still. Summers, by contrast, can be properly hot, so a lawn or linen suit earns its place. Our winter fabrics guide compares the heavier options.

Eid al-Fitr falls in late winter for the next few years, so a festive outfit usually needs to be warm; Polish weddings, where the reception often runs late into the night, call for something comfortable to dance and sit in for hours. Ordering is the same in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Gdańsk or anywhere else, and you can request a quote whenever you are ready.

Do you have a tailor or shop in Warsaw?

No. We have no shop, studio, tailor or measuring service in Warsaw or anywhere in Poland. You order online, we make the outfit in Pakistan to your measurements, and it is shipped to your address.

Can I pay in złoty?

Quotes are not issued in złoty. You choose euros, US dollars or pounds sterling, and your bank converts the payment if your account is in złoty.

What should I write on the customs form when I send my fabric?

Describe the contents plainly and truthfully, for example unstitched cotton suit fabric, three pieces, for stitching. Only post it after we have confirmed the fabric and the arrangements, use a tracked service, and keep the tracking number.
