Quick answers

Ordering from Denmark

The questions customers ask before their first order, answered for your country.

What can I order?

Women’s clothing made to your own measurements: two-piece and three-piece shalwar kameez, kurtas and kameez, co-ords, Eid outfits, casual party wear, and Western pieces such as dresses, skirts, tops and trousers. Many customers in Denmark ask for a kurta that layers under a rain jacket and trousers that sit comfortably on a bike saddle, and you can send your own design or start from one of ours.

Can I order just one suit?

Yes. The minimum order is one suit, and a single piece is welcome too. We do not send free samples, so the fabric, cut and finish are settled through photos, your notes and the written quote before anything is made. One lined suit for winter, delivered to one address in Denmark, is a normal order.

Can you provide the fabric?

Yes, through Fabric + Stitching: we supply the agreed fabric and make the outfit from it. Tell us how warm, how heavy and what colours you want, and we share photos and descriptions of the fabric with your quote. Fabric is only supplied as part of an outfit we stitch, and with this route nothing has to be posted from Denmark.

Can I send my own fabric?

Yes, subject to fabric suitability and sufficient quantity. That is our Stitching Only service. Send photos first and wait until we have confirmed the fabric, the amount and how to send it before you post anything from Denmark. Your fabric travelling to Pakistan and the finished outfit travelling back are two separate shipments, and you arrange the first one.

How do I submit my measurements?

On the quote form, in centimetres or inches. Most Danish tape measures are in centimetres, which is fine; just use one unit throughout. A Danish label size such as 38 is on the continental EU scale, so your body measurements tell us much more than the size you buy in shops.

How are the design and fit agreed?

In writing, before cutting starts. We confirm the neckline, sleeves, lengths, trousers, lining and any embroidery with you, and check your measurements, and nothing is cut until you agree. As there are no appointments or try-ons in Denmark, a photo of a kameez that already fits you well, and a note about the layers you wear underneath in winter, help a great deal.

Where is the clothing made?

In Pakistan. Every outfit is cut, stitched and finished there and then shipped to Denmark. We have no shop, studio or workroom in Copenhagen or anywhere else in the country.

How long does it take, and what does shipping cost?

Making takes 5 to 7 working days, counted from when your quote is approved and paid in full, or with Stitching Only, from when your fabric reaches us. Shipping to Denmark is added on top and varies with the delivery method, and its cost is part of your written quote. If you have a date such as Eid in mind, put it on the form.

Who handles import charges?

We do. Your written quote includes delivery to your Danish address and any import duties, taxes and customs or courier fees, so there is nothing to pay when the parcel arrives. Denmark is in the EU, so EU rules on VAT for imported goods and the temporary flat duty on low-value parcels from outside the EU apply, and whatever applies to your parcel is covered in the quote.

How do I request a quote?

Open the Request a Custom Quote form from this page and Denmark is already filled in. Add your town, the garment, quantity, service option, measurements, design images and notes, and choose US dollars, euros or pounds sterling for your quote. We reply with a written quote, and you pay in full by bank transfer, Wise or a card payment link once you approve it.

Two ways to start

Your design, or one of ours

Send a photo of the outfit you want, or customise one of our designs. Either way it is cut to your measurements and shipped to Denmark.

  • 01

    Have something in mind?

Upload a photo, a screenshot or a sketch. We’ll make it as a single piece, cut to your measurements, and agree every detail with you before we start.

  • 02

    Like one of ours?

Pick a design from our collection and change what you want: neckline, sleeves, length or lining. Same care, your version.

  • Single pieces welcome

One outfit is enough. No minimum bundle.

  • Full payment in advance

You pay once you’ve approved your quote, before we cut anything.

  • 5 to 7 working days to make

Production time only. Shipping is added on top.

  • Delivered worldwide

Delivery and import charges are included in your quote.

Two ways to order

Our fabric, or yours

Both are made to your measurements. The minimum order is one suit, and we don’t offer free samples.

  • Fabric + Stitching

We supply the agreed fabric and make your outfit to your measurements. One parcel: the finished outfit shipped to you.

    • Fabric agreed with you before cutting
    • Minimum order one suit
    • No need to send anything
  • Stitching Only

You supply suitable fabric, such as an unstitched suit, and we cut, stitch and finish it.

    • Two shipping stages: your fabric to us in Pakistan, then the outfit to you
    • Confirm suitability and quantity before sending
    • Minimum order one suit

EU import charges on a parcel to Denmark

Your outfit leaves Pakistan, which is outside the EU, so EU import rules apply when it reaches Denmark. Since 1 July 2021 all goods imported into the EU are subject to VAT, as the European Commission’s guidance on low-value consignments sets out. From 1 July 2026 until 1 July 2028, the EU also applies a temporary customs duty of €3 for each category of goods in a low-value consignment (up to €150) from outside the EU, replacing the old €150 duty exemption; see the Commission’s announcement and the Council’s press release.

In Denmark, VAT is called moms and imports go through the Danish Customs Agency, Toldstyrelsen. You do not need to work any of this out: the moms, the EU duty and any courier fee for customs clearance are already in your quote, and the parcel is shipped with them paid. If a courier ever asks you for money at the door, contact us before paying. Our guide to ordering from Europe and the page on worldwide delivery say more.

Posting your fabric from Denmark

You may have an unstitched suit from a Pakistani brand’s website, a set brought back from Lahore or Karachi, or cotton bought by the metre in a Danish fabric shop. Our unstitched suit stitching service can make any of them up, provided there is enough for the design; how much fabric a three-piece suit needs helps you check.

Photograph every piece by a window in daylight first; on a grey Danish afternoon that is still truer than lamplight, and our guide to photographing fabric for a quote shows what else helps. Once we have confirmed the fabric and agreed the arrangements, send it by a tracked international service. Pakistan is outside the EU, so complete the customs declaration honestly, for example “unstitched cotton suit fabric, three pieces”, and keep the tracking number. How to post your fabric for stitching covers the form.

Danish sizes and the words you will meet

Shops in Denmark use continental EU sizes, so a 38 is not a UK 10 or 12, and brands cut the same number differently. A label also says nothing about your sleeve length or where your kameez should fall. Measure in centimetres with the size guide and our measuring guide, or base your numbers on a kameez you already like with sending a sample kameez.

In Danish, tailor-made clothing is skræddersyet tøj, a tailor is a skrædder and a seamstress is a syerske. Shalwar kameez, salwar kameez and pakistansk tøj all point to the same outfit: a kameez, trousers and usually a dupatta.

Wind, rain and a bicycle

Danish winters are more grey, damp and windy than deeply cold, and the days are short from November to February. A mid-weight khaddar or cambric kameez with a lining layers better under a rain jacket than the heaviest fabric, with karandi or marina for the rawest weeks. Our winter fabrics guide compares them.

So many people in Denmark cycle to work and to class that it is worth planning an outfit around the bike: side slits that let you pedal, a kameez length that does not catch on the saddle, and straight or cigarette trousers rather than a wide shalwar near the chain. Trouser styles compares the cuts. Ordering works the same anywhere in the country, from Copenhagen and Aarhus to Odense, Aalborg and Esbjerg, and across the bridge Sweden has its own page. The Europe overview covers the rest; when you are ready, request a quote.

Can my quote be in Danish kroner?

No. Customers in Denmark choose US dollars, euros or pounds sterling, and the written quote is issued in that currency. If your account is in kroner, your bank or Wise converts the payment.

Is there a shop or tailor in Copenhagen where I can be measured?

No. We have no shop, studio or tailor in Copenhagen or anywhere in Denmark. You measure at home using the size guide, and we agree the numbers with you in writing before anything is cut.

Do I pay anything when the parcel arrives in Denmark?

No. Delivery and any import VAT, duty and customs or courier fees are included in your written quote, so the parcel arrives with nothing left to pay. If anyone asks you for payment on delivery, contact us first.
